Emergency Bots
1 day program
Tackle a range of emergency missions using high-tech ground and air (drone) robots.
Learning Program Overview
With a focus on coding, mechanical systems, and engineering design, students tackle a range of emergency missions using high-tech ground and air robots (drones). Students are introduced to coding using block code and Python programming with both land- and air-based robots.
Through a series of challenges that centre around Australian emergency response situations, student groups use creative thinking and collaboration to produce solutions that fulfil a user brief. This program will incorporate robot sensor inputs, computation/decision making and the potential benefits and drawbacks of mechanical outputs/movements.
Success Criteria
• Program a robot in a group using coding.
• Demonstrate understanding of the Design Thinking model as a creative problem-solving tool.
