The Regional Rail Revival Design Challenge 2050

Calling all young designers, coders and makers!

The Regional Rail Revival Design Challenge 2050 is on again this year, and we are inviting regional Victorian students in Years 5-10 to share their creative ideas for the future of train travel.

Whether your idea is about the experience of travelling on a train, improving the way you get around a station, or using smart and sustainable tech for a more enjoyable journey, we’d love to hear it.

Challenge timeline:

- Teacher briefing: 23 Feb

- Starter sessions: 7 & 9 March

- Team registration closes: 24 March

- Tech School workshops: April

- Entry submissions due: 12 May

- Shortlist announced: 18 May

- Pitch workshop: 25 May

- Pitch final: 2 June

Shortlisted teams will present to a panel of engineers and other experts from Rail Projects Victoria at the pitch final in Melbourne. There are great prizes up for grabs for the winning schools.
