*In light of the significant burden teachers are still bearing due to the fallout of COVID19, Bendigo Tech School has postponed the launch of the 2021 Student Ambassador Program to Fri 30 April (Term 2).
The Bendigo Tech School is seeking 2021 Student Ambassadors! The Student Ambassador program is a leadership role for secondary school students who are interested in Science, Technology Engineering, Art, or Mathematics (STEAM).
Ambassadors work alongside students and teachers from other Bendigo schools to develop technology projects for their schools or communities.
Early in 2021, we will invite all Teacher and Student Ambassadors to a one-day Leadership Workshop. Throughout 2021 the Tech School Student Ambassadors will meet fortnightly in term time, facilitated by industry mentors and Tech School staff.
The Bendigo Tech School is committed to supporting students to develop agency to design programs and events. At the one-day Student Ambassador Leadership Workshop (30 Apr. 2021), the Tech School will be equipping these young community leaders with skills in leadership, communications, planning and design thinking, to launch them into 2021.
“Being a Tech School Ambassador has given me a variety of opportunities and lifelong skills such as design thinking, communication and leadership. It gave me the opportunity to meet so many young like-minded individuals. I learned how to manage a group and how to manage my time, which led me to win awards from the YCA, and I became the captain of Bendigo South East College with the guidance of the program and the people involved.”
