Emergency Bots with Bendigo South East College

Over three weeks in February, Bendigo South East College's Term 1 Digi Tech students engaged in a hybrid version of our Emergency Bots program. Across six sessions, the three Year 7 classes first experienced a fast-paced, hands-on introduction to block coding, sensor technology, problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Using Spheros, LittleBits, and Codey Rocky robots, students tackled exciting challenges that introduced them to the evolving world of technology. The program also encouraged them to think critically about what is possible, probable, and preferable in future technological advancements. Understanding inputs, processing, and outputs is a fundamental skill in technology.

These hands-on experiences allow students to build confidence and apply these concepts to real-world innovations. By developing foundational robotics skills, students gain valuable knowledge they can apply across various STEAM fields, opening doors to future opportunities in technology and engineering.
